Floyd products are born from where our awareness intersects with a change in perspective. Our designs are not based on shape or superficial decoration, rather, we reinterpret the world as it exists to create value with original ideas and innovative approaches, focusing on originality and our process. Our mission is to share the sense of emotion and surprise that can come from when we see things through the playful spirit of the imagination.

PUBLIC DESIGN LIMITED began in 2005 with the goal of elevating people's lives through design, and the brand name 'Floyd' is a product label operated by PUBLIC DESIGN LIMITED. It is a brand that does not fit into a particular genre, continuing to grow and evolve just as we as humans grow through our lives. With this in mind, we chose the name of our fictitious character, Floyd.

Starting from "?"

"Do we want to make just another product, or do we want to create something new that people truly value?" For us, craftsmanship begins with "?" and just good enough is never enough. We create products that we believe in - products that carry emotion, surprise and smiles to the world.

We raise the bar on the meaning of quality with design that goes beyond conventional thinking, detailing the origin and the story of everything we create. Each product has been inspired by looking to our world for moments of "!" and by our work with craftsmen all over Japan. We incorporate this inspiration into everything we make, from the moment you open each box to the moment you take each piece into your hands.
